Yeah, I think this is an interesting topic. A few days ago I was talking with my friends about it, and we finally agreed, like you, that nowadays people use that word without thinking about what it really means. At first, some of my friends weren’t agree with me: they said that a Freaky is everybody who does weird things (in fact, things that they consider strange). Finally I was able to explain my point of view: a freky person is a somebody who’s always in front of the computer, creating or making up things that you had never thought that it could exist…more or less…!
Muelliiin, I’ve to go out, my motorbike doesn’t work so well…
The meaning of “freak” (or “freaky” if you wish) means: “A person who’s addicted to some discipline”… in our case, Samy, we are addicted to computer science and.. of course… we’re addicted to our girls…
Haha, I think it’s quite funny to see people trying to explain what in the hell a freak is and what he or she does to desire this weird distinction xD!
After all this looooooong time we’ve been hearing “freaky” everywhere we go, I do really agree with you, Samy, on saying that each time more being freaky is no longer an insult. Maybe when we call someone “freak” we’re just expressing an admiration for something this person has done… And, well, why not doing it using a cool/nowadays word as this?
Some freaky thing to think about, right?
I’m french and i know what “friki” means. That’s a spanish word which doesn’t sound spanish and is used to call people who play at magic card, pokemon card, ugiho, etc. ..
friki = keeno (with glasses, spoted-face poor guy.)
in french = bollos
Que friki eres tio xD como te haces el blog en ingles… es para ampliar fronteras, no? :$ pillin ^^
